murder suicide belcher_perkinsSaturday night NFL Player Jovan Belcher (Kansas, City Chiefs) killed his 22-year-old girlfriend and then himself (reportedly) after an argument over staying out late escalated.  According to reports, Jovan was upset because his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins, returned home late after a Trey Songz concert.  Kasandra returned home after hanging with friends, to find her boyfriend/baby’s father upset.  Their verbal argument escalated when Jovan shot Kasadra…leaving the mother of 1 dead.

Jovan’s mother, who was visiting the couple, called 911.

While mom called the police, Jovan then headed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ stadium.

The starting linebacker thanked general manager Scott Pioli and coach Romeo Crennel for all they’d done for him.  He then shot and killed himself in the practice facility parking lot.

Friends of the couple say the couple had normal relationship problems, but nothing out of the ordinary.

“It doesn’t seem that that would be the end of their story,” said Brianne York, a friend of Perkins. “It just seems like if things didn’t work out, they would have gone their separate ways. I would never have thought that this would be how it ended.”

Kassandra was “really happy about being a mom.”

Jovan and Kassandra separated briefly before the murder suicide but got back together around Thanksgiving!  SOURCE

Many are speculating Jovan Belcher snapped over jealousy because his girlfriend was hanging out late with friends…but this kind of explosive anger is deeply rooted.  It’s likely Jovan had underlying emotional issues…and his relationship with Kassandra Perkins was one stressor he could not handle!

I see you like to make things personal just b/c ppl dont agree with you by making sarcastic references about their family. I find that to be really weak. One, dont make any references to/about my loved ones because you dont know them. The female members in my family are good upstanding members of society. Unlike the chick here, may she rest in peace, they know when to let go and leave after a relationship has soured. Although, to answer your question, I’d have to know the truth before I acted or even knew what to feel in that situation because it’s two sides to every story and a subjective matter. At the end of the day, I wasnt tryna to convince you of anything. All I was basically saying is women need to stop with the bias when it comes to stuff like this. Women rarely ever entertain the idea that maybe if they had removed themselves from the equation that things could’ve went better. Most would rather cast blame. We all gotta be accountable for what we do in life and be ready for the consequences. Making everyone who gets their face beaten in or blown off out to be a saint is foolish to me.If you dont like what I think, oh well . I dont know what else tell you.

Well I knew eventually some chick was gonna jump up and defend ole girl. I love how women catch feelings when you dont give a pro women answer. Once again, I say she didnt deserve to die but I didnt absolve her either. I also said dude wasnt blameless either. That pretty much goes w/o saying. As far as that other stuff you’re talkin about, I dont really care honestly. What happened with that is speculation, you dont really know the truth behind either incident. Lastly, you can talk about right and wrong all day but you can only control what you do. Women love to talk about what the man should’ve done in situations like this but they rarely tell you about what they should’ve done. If a woman runs off at the mouth and someone rams their fist through her teeth, it serves her well. Whether a man or another woman does it, she got exactly what you deserved. Even if that hypothetical turns fatal, she could only control/answer for her own actions. In short her actions probably weren’t the right move, considering how bad it went for her. If you gonna cry for someone, make sure they actually deserve your pity.

So what if he was jealous that does not ive him the right to kill someone, what about him at someone else home waiting on them and there until wee hours in the morning. His past behaviors in college doesnt sound to good either, any one can talk shit but gives you the right to put your hands on someone are take some ones life

I dont think anyone in this story sounds blameless. Everyone bashing this cat like he’s evil incarnate like they know something I dont. Reality is, by the the time we find out why this happened, this will be a dead issue. That’s if we do at all. While I think it was a slap in the face to her family to do a memorial for dude, I’m not gonna get suckered in by the halo effect and absolve her just because she’s a young mom. Considering she reportedly caught nine bullets in places that would probably kill with less shots in front of his own mom and kid, this sound like more than just petty jealousy. This sounds like straight revenge, like he wanted her to suffer. She probably was messing around and homie got wind of it. I highly doubt things would have got this ugly over nothing. She didnt deserve this but I cant paint her as an angel either. I dont really invest much in shoulda/woulda/coulda statements, especially with matters like this. People who make those kind of statements usually have no right to talk because they’ve never been in situations like this. Futhermore, when the spotlight is on them, you find out they cant do half of what they claim they woulda/coulda done. That’s why they talk about shoulda in the future. It’s in reference to a past event , in which they failed to accomplish the goal, as if what the should’ve done woulda/coulda changed the outcome.

As far as woman-beating, I say that’s subjective matter. I’ll tell this to any woman with no shame, if you run your mouth and you cant back up all that rah-rah you was talking, you deserve that ass whooping. No fucks or sympathy will be giving to you from me. I notice oftentimes when a man and woman are arguing, the woman is not only talking the most shit but is provoking a fight. Lastly, I really dont think the media has anything to do with domestic violence. The media only serves as a scapegoat to those who dont wanna own up fo their behavior. Only ppl who let the media control their thoughts are the weak-minded.

YES Violence against women is being glamorized in the media! BUT TOO…Women are getting too comfortable being called a b*tch, and getting hit.

MEN with violent tendencies shows signs early on. Humiliation >>> Submission >>> Verbal Assault >>> Physical Assault

And I agree, what Rihanna is doing with Chris Brown is beyond DUMB! I couldn’t bring myself to post the pics of Chris in her bed. I know it’s “news” but some things are just too ridiculous for coverage.

Love Rihanna, but praying she wakes up!

  • Girly girl

This is so sad. That’s why I don’t like jealous men. But I think that maybe there was violence in their relationship before he murdered her like maybe he use to hit her before because things don’t go from no violence to full blown murder it’s step by step to a push, to choking, to slapping etc to murder. And for some reason I feel like now a days there is an increase in domestic violence ever since the Rihanna beating… Idk but there’s something weird going on in society that men feel as it’s more ok to hit women because of how the media played out Rihanna and Chris Brown’s relationship than the eminem and rihanna song “Love the way you lie” glamorized it. It’s not okay!
