Howard University Rapist Left His Phone Number With Victim: ‘Since You Don’t Know Me, Call Me!’

Nineteen year old Demarco Myles was arrested this week for raping 2 women…after leaving his name and phone number with one of his victims.Myles entered the Bethune Annex Women’s Dormitory on November 2nd and knocked on the door of his victim’s room around 1:15 p.m.  He initiated a casual conversation with his her.  But suddenly Myles (according to reports) started masturbating in front of the student.

The victim asked Myles to leave.  When he didn’t, she started a text to her friend.  Myles pulled out brass knuckles with an attached blade.  He slapped the victim, then forced her down on her stomach.  Before raping the student, Myles completed the initiated text to the student’s friend.  (The content of that text is unknown)

Myles then raped the Howard student and afterwards, wrote his phone number down for the victim.  He told her, “Since you don’t know me, here’s my number.”

The attack on the Howard University student was Myles’ second (known) attack.  Just a week before, the dorm room attack–on October 26th–Myles attacked a 24-year old woman.  The victim was working from home at a Rhode Island Row apartment in Northeast D.C.  Myles knocked on her door around 2 p.m. pretending to be promoting a party.  He forced his way into the victim’s apartment and then forced her into the bathroom.  He assaulted her in the bathroom.  The victim says she screamed at the top of her lungs and fought back, but Myles kicked, beat, and stabbed her in the face, head, and body at  least 25 times.

The 24 year old woman was left severely bruised with stab wounds to the bone and vision impairment.  She was admitted to the hospital in Intensive Care and is still hospitalized today.

Police caught up with Myles when they traced the phone number he left with his second victim at the Howard Univerity campus.  He’d scratched the number out, but the digits were still visible to police.  Myles was arrested at a Fourth Street NW address, where he lives with his mother.

The investigation has uncovered Myles was entering apartment buildings and dorms all over town…often getting past complex security measures.

In custody, Myles admitted to raping the first woman, but claims the second assault was consensual sex.  He says he didn’t mean to hurt anybody, but admits he beat his first victim when she fought back.

Demarco Myles has been charged with intent to commit first degree sexual assault and intent to kill for the rape and beating of victim one…and first degree sexual assault by force for the second assault.  He is being held in police custody without bond.
